Connect your own domain name

Show your pages and smartlinks on your own address, like myname.com. It takes about 10 minutes on your side, we handle the rest.

Before you start

You need a domain name bought from a provider (GoDaddy, Namecheap, OVHcloud…). Don't have one? Buy it through Allinks, we handle everything. Custom domains are included from the Premium plan.

Does your domain already show a website?

• No, it is free: connect it directly, your page shows on myname.com.
• Yes, a website, blog or shop: use a subdomain, like link.myname.com (you choose the name: page, shop…). Your website stays exactly as it is.

Connecting the main domain replaces what it shows today: your website is not deleted, but it no longer shows at this address. When in doubt, choose a subdomain. Your email addresses are never affected.

1. In Allinks

Settings, then Custom domains, Connect a domain and I already own a domain. Enter your domain and answer the question about your website: Allinks shows the exact settings to copy, with a copy button.

2. At your domain provider

In the DNS zone section, add only the records for your case: the main domain ones if it is free (plus the two recommended www lines, so www.myname.com works too), or the subdomain ones if it already shows a website.

An A record already exists on "@"? Edit its value instead of adding a second one, and delete any AAAA record on "@". The TXT only proves the domain is yours. Some providers append your domain to the name automatically: only type what is shown.

3. Check, then let us handle it

Back in Allinks, click Check my DNS. The update takes from a few minutes to a few hours depending on the provider. As soon as the light turns green, the domain shows "Activation in progress": we activate it with its security certificate (the HTTPS padlock) within 24 hours, and you get an email as soon as it is online. Until then, your address shows a "Coming soon" page.

We review every domain before activating it: a sexual, hateful, violent or misleading name (imitating a brand, a bank, a person…) is refused, as stated in our terms.

4. Last step

The domain does not apply by itself: open the settings of each page or smartlink and pick your domain in the list.

5. Your page directly on myname.com

Your page can open on your bare domain, with nothing after it: myname.com rather than myname.com/my-page.

• When creating it: when you pick your domain, tick Also show my page directly on myname.com.
• For an existing page: open the page, Design & settings tab, pick your domain under Your link, then turn on Show this page at the domain address. Changes are saved automatically.

Without this choice, myname.com shows a simple holding page, and your pages stay available at their full address (myname.com/my-page).

A page shown this way reserves the domain: your other pages and smartlinks can no longer use it. To keep short links like myname.com/promo, leave this option off.
